I’m Weird Because…

 

First off, hurray it’s Friday! This has been one crazy week and I am so happy the end is here. I am SO looking forward to this weekend. We have a special visitor staying with us this weekend and there is lots of fun activities planned!

I do want to give everyone fair warning before they start reading this. I consider all my readers friends. If some of these items that I am about to list turn you away from being one of these friends, I completely understand! ;)

Yesterday for work I happened to be on the road. I like those days that I am out of the office and visiting with clients. I get out and get to be social. The only problem with this is that most clients live an hours drive away from the office. I end up driving for quite sometime by myself with no one to talk to. Yesterday, while driving I couldn’t help but laugh at myself for something weird I had done. This got me thinking of all the weird quirks we all come to have. I thought I’d share some of mine with you today!

I’m weird because…I lick all the flavor off of the chips before eating them.

Yup! Any chip, any flavor. I MUST lick the flavor off of both sides before consuming the chip. My least favorite is Salt and Vinegar or BBQ. These two flavors cause my tongue to burn.

I’m weird because…I like to eat limes like I would eat an orange.

I hate lemons but give me a lime and I am a happy girl! I’ll peel it up like an orange and gobble it down. I find lemons so sour but limes are delicious!

I’m weird because…my taste in music is very random! The songs that go through my shuffle on long drives is amusing…here’s an example:

I’m weird because…I know ALL the words to this song and shimmy along to it.

I’m weird because…I took pictures of these songs yesterday and sent them to the people that remind me of these songs. I was kind of lonely driving by myself.

I’m weird because…when everyone is talking about their choice as hottest celebrity this guy comes to my mind…

I just think Maury is SO sexy (in an “oldmanwithgoodhairlinegoingtodoDNAtest kind of way).

I’m weird because…I dip my Oreo's in peanut butter.

I’m weird because…I have to put condiments on my French fries the same way every time. It must go like this; salt, pepper, vinegar, ketchup, salt and pepper. If they don’t go on like that they don’t taste good.

I’m weird because…I love the smell of skunk. When driving by a dead skunk on the road and the smell starts to drift into the car I take a deep breath in!

What I’m Lovin’ Wednesday

 

Happy Wednesday! The week is already half over! For me, the week has been going so slow because I have some fun things planned for the weekend ahead and I want it to just get here!!

It has been SO long since I linked up with Jaime at This Kind of Love and her What I’m Loving Wednesday linky.

 

I’m loving…the rain that we got yesterday! Penny’s from heaven for this little farms crop. Everything already looks greener!

 

I’m loving…that Ryan and I got all of our coins rolled last night! Big job but glad we did it! We already know where that change is going to, next winters vacation! Woo hoo!

 

I’m loving…all my new fun kitchen gadgets I’ve been using. Most were shower/wedding presents and I love taking out a new piece and putting it to use!

 

I’m loving…my sweet puppy who was pretty dopey last night. He had surgery yesterday to remove his rotten teeth. He had 13 rotten teeth removed but now he has sparkly white teeth (the ones left). Not to mention his breath smells SO much better!

 

I’m loving…the last chance clearance items that I purchased! I know it’s crazy buying fall fashions in this heat but last fall items are going for CHEAP! I love a good deal!

I’m loving…my awesome husband! I was feeling under the weather last week so he made supper, looked after Tucker and even bought me a treat from the store. Ice cream in fact….that man knows me so well!

One Heck Of A Busy Weekend

 

Happy Monday everyone! This is one of those Monday’s where you wish you just had one more day to recuperate from a busy weekend.

Friday night Ryan and I helped out at a little sod job. The people were really desperate to get their lawn in before they had the open house on Sunday. Luckily, we got the new lawn put in all on Friday night.

Saturday morning I was up early again because it was my week to work.

Afterwards, I went for a quick nap and then got ready to head to the city for a very special bachelorette supper!

My beautiful cousin Shannon is getting married in less then 2 weeks. Saturday night was her bachelorette which started out with supper at The Keg.

It was a tasty meal and great company. Talking about everything imaginable.

To and from the restaurant I drove with my friend and cousin, Stacy and her two kids, Maddy and Tanner.

It was such a fun car ride home with Maddy belting out a whole bunch of different songs. Here’s one of my favorites.

As soon as I got home, Ryan and I loaded up the car again to cross the ferry to join friends in celebrating one of my besties birthdays. We sat around the camp fire all night singing along to her Dad on the guitar. It was great to be there to celebrate her upcoming birthday. Happy Birthday Bekk!

Sunday morning Ryan and I headed to church except it’s wasn’t at it’s usual location. Sunday was our annual Sunday School picnic at a congregation members home.

It was so nice being outside for church on such a beautiful day. With a great service, lots of children’s play and a yummy lunch, it was a great way to spend a morning!

That afternoon Dad picked me up and we went to took Grandma out for supper!

That evening we headed to the North Gower United church for a musical night. My Auntie Ruth plays the piano for the Ottawa Valley men’s choir and Sunday night was their first performance! Always such a great show!

It was one heck of a busy weekend but a fun one too! It’s a true summertime weekend with friends, family, good food and bonfire!

Friday Confessional – Grey Style

 

Happy Friday everyone! I still have one more little Saturday morning work day to get through before I can declare it the weekend! But you all celebrate for me tonight, ok?

Today I’m opening up and confessing to you all what’s been on my mind. Lately, that is all 50 Shades of Grey!

I confess…I have fallen. I have fallen hard for Mr. Christian Grey. I packed the first of the books on my honeymoon and was finished it in 24 hours!

I confess…that I sighed a huge sigh of relief when I was able to download the other two! I couldn’t read anything else that week!

I confess…that I didn’t know Ryan was reading over my shoulder on the plane. He really startled me (and made me blush) when he yelled, “WOAH”! It was a really juicy part. :-)

I confess…I was actually glad that I have a kindle so no one on the beach knew what I was reading. Once in a while I would whisper to Ryan, “Look, she’s reading 50 Shades! Omg, I know what she’s reading about…” and then proceed to giggle.

I confess…My favorite of the books is book 3, Fifty Shades Freed. I didn’t realize this until midnight last night when I looked at the time and realized I had been reading for 3 hours straight. Yikes!

I confess…I cannot pin point an actor to fill the roll of Christian. No actor compares to the man I imagine in my head.

I confess…Anastasia’s character in my head always has a scary resemblance to myself, weird! ;)  

I confess…I literally jump full tilt at my Dad when he suggests downloading the series and reading it to figure out what all the hype is about. I just blush thinking about my Dad reading 50 Shades and realizing what I’ve been reading! Eeek!

I confess…it is was a really good idea to read this series on my honeymoon!

I confess…That I want to have a supplemental book club meeting just so we can all sit around to talk and giggle about the 50 Shades trilogy. I think we might also need to include wine in this meeting.

I confess…I looked up and saw a helicopter the other day. I jabbed Ryan in the ribs and said, “Do you think that’s Charlie Tango”? He just looked at me weird.

I confess…that I have REALLY stretch out the 3rd book. I thought it was because I wasn’t enjoying it as much when it reality it’s my fear of being done. What am I going to read now? Bah!

The Wedding Slideshow

 

Happy Wednesday everyone! The has been on tough cookie of a week already! Monday I was feeling under the weather and headed home early. Tuesday was catch up but then Ryan and I got to go for supper at good friends (and neighbors) Sharon and Wayne’s last night. Talk about being spoiled rotten, getting to enjoy such a yummy feast!

Life in definitely back to normal now after all the wedding chaos. I am still slowly starting to move all my shower and wedding gifts into the house. Ryan keeps wanting me to move everything in at once but I like to slowly bring everything in, wash it by hand and then organize the space where it will be going. I love looking at all of my new things again!

The other day our wedding musicians and the videographer met at the church to record the wedding songs again. My amazing videographer was worried that the sound quality wasn’t great on the day of and wanted a second take.

About a month before the wedding, I started working on a little project on my work computer, our wedding slide show. I didn’t want something too fancy. Just a few pictures of Ryan and I growing up and as a couple. I wanted it to be played through the cocktail hour and dinner.

Using the PowerPoint program on my computer it was easily done. It was fun looking through pictures of Ryan that I had never seen before!

Today, I wanted to share this slideshow with you. It’s not overly fancy but you might have a fun time looking at some younger picture of Ryan and I! Feel free to laugh! :-)

Weekend Points

 

Happy Monday everyone! I’m feeling a bit under the weather this morning so this recap is going to be in point form! It’s been a long time since Ryan and I had a weekend to ourselves. It was so nice to have no concrete plans!

- Friday night we worked into the night to lay sod (a new lawn) in Norway Bay. It was pouring rain and we were soaking wet. Maybe that’s why I got sick? Geesh!

- Once we got home, warmed up and eating a late supper, we decided to rent this movie;

It was pretty good. Full of action so it was right up Ryan’s alley.

- Saturday morning we woke up and it was very quiet. We soon realized we had no power! So, we loaded up the car and headed to the next town for breakfast and errands. We enjoyed a great breakfast with and a visit from one of the guys from the farm.

- Saturday night after supper, we headed across the ferry to Arnprior for a movie! We saw What To Expect When You’re Expecting. Super cute movie!

- As we passed Galetta on our way back to the ferry we stopped to see if friends Josh and Rebekka. We had a couple of drinks and visited for a bit before heading home!

- Sunday morning Ryan and I headed to church! It was exciting to go to our first church service back since we got married! It was nice having my husband sitting beside me.

- After church we grabbed a quick breakfast with my Mom who was a bachelorette this weekend while my Dad went fishing!

- Sunday afternoon I puttered away while Ryan slept. While puttering I caught most of the movie, License To Wed. So cute! And they had gospel singers singing “Oh, Happy Day” at the end of their wedding like Ryan and I did! Made me smile super big watching it!

- My Dad is always dropping off little treats to our house. Occasionally, he sees something we might like at the grocery store that he knows we wouldn’t buy ourselves! For Ryan it was chocolate milk and for me, corn on the cob, which we enjoyed with supper last night.

- We also had a couple of yummy Caesars!

- Ryan is FINALLY completely moved out of his old house and moved into mine (now ours)! It’s still weird that I don’t have to say good bye to him every night but nice too. We have put all his “boy junk” away and he even has his own space in “our” closet. I’d say it’s a 80:20 closet ratio, in my favor! :-)

All in all, it was a very relaxing weekend. It’s been the first “normal” life weekend since being back from our honeymoon. I feel like we are back into a routine and starting to figure out living together.

Loving Summer Life

 

Happy Friday everyone! It’s been one hectic week but it’s almost come to an end. I still feel like Ryan and I are getting back to reality. We are catching up with family and friends talking all things wedding and honeymoon! It’s been super fun going through details of the wedding from other peoples point of view.

Back in March, the snow had melted. Usually this means that in a couple weeks time we would get another dumping of snow. Except, Mother Nature wasn’t playing around and we had an early start to the summer. Unbelievably warm temperatures in April. Grass growing sooner then ever before. It did make for a beautiful and green May wedding but it makes this 1st of June feel like a second summer.

There are so many fun things that happen in the summer! In between a crazy busy work schedule Ryan and I try to squeeze in as many BBQ’s, sun and swims that we can!

The summer feel felt like it had kicked off when Jill and I took a random trip to Arnprior, Ontario for supper with one of my besties, Bekk! We hoped on that ferry (sure sign of summer) and had an amazing supper and ice cream outdoors afterwards!

As Jill and I were crossing the ferry I began to think of all the things I want and will be doing this summer! Jill kind of mentioned this on her blog yesterday and I thought it would be fun to share my list too!

- The beginning of the wedding season has begun! I have been so lucky to have such a beautiful day(s) and now I am excited to celebrate other people’s unions! Last night I attended a bridal shower and it was fun sitting back and watching the bride open all her gifts.

I am so looking forward to a couple of weddings that Ryan and I will be attending! I LOVE weddings!

- I am really wanted to take a road tour with my new hubby! I don’t even care where. I just want to be in a car going somewhere with music, food, map and Ryan!

- Being that Ryan and I already took our summer holidays in the Bahamas's we will have to fill our activities during the weekends. One of those weekends, Jill, Bekk, Ryan and I will be traveling by train to Toronto for a ball game, sightseeing and lots of fun! So looking forward to this trip! Just booked our train tickets yesterday!

- Ryan and I will be hosting our annual pool party again this year. Although it won’t be held in June like normal we do want to have all of our friends over for some BBQ and swimming! We just hope the date works for most everyone!

- I have all intentions to eat a few s’more’s! Ryan and I were lucky to receive an outdoor fire pit as a wedding gift and I would really love to sit outside our place eating s’more’s!

- Be outside as much as possible! I have to admit, when it comes to having any free time in the summer I like to use it by being a hermit. I love to snuggle up with my spare time with a good movie or book indoors. This summer I want to make a conscious effort to relax outside. Take my book onto the porch. Sit by the pool. Go for more walks! I need to enjoy this weather while it lasts.

-  Be a newlywed! Have random movie and supper dates, cook suppers together and pack up and leave when we feel like it. Have fun together!

- I’d love to go fishing at some point this summer. It is one of my most favorite activities! Ryan’s not a big fishing fan so I know he won’t be joining me but I would still like to go out fishing!

- Watch the Canada Day fireworks in Quyon! Always a highlight of my summer!!

- Attend Shawville fair and watch the demolition derby! A must for every summer!

I know it’s going to be a whirl wind of activity for the next little while. Trying to jam in as many fun summer activities in as possible! That’s what summer is about! Getting out with friends and family while the weather is beautiful! Soaking up every bit of that sunlight and summer time!
