Happy Monday everyone! First, thank you all so much for the kind messages from Friday’s post. Its nice to know that Sam is in your prayers. At first I wasn’t going to share our story. For some reason I thought it was something I should keep personal. Then I realized how good it feels to write things down. It’s a release. It is also something that I can look back on in years to come. Because that’s what parenthood is all about…the good and the bad!
This weekend was so nice! There was so much time spent with family enjoying some summer activities!
The weekend started our with our company golf tournament! While I opted out of the golf this year, I still joined the guys for a fun-filled supper!
Of course, Sam joined me and all the guys love getting him to smile for them! Sam is so lucky to be able to grow up with so many strong men (and women!) in his life.
Saturday morning it was up early to get ready for an exciting morning celebrating the first birthday of our nephew and godson, Everett! Little mans birthday was actually July 9 but with everyone’s busy summer schedules, we celebrated this weekend instead.
Thankfully, the rain held off so that everyone could enjoy the pool and a BBQ lunch!
Everett got to enjoy some yummy chocolate cake too!
In the early afternoon we loaded up in the car to head to the campsite of Ryan’s Aunt and Uncle. We had gotten word that his Aunt Lynn and Uncle Harv were going to be there camping as well! We were excited to go up for a visit with everyone and introduce Sam to his great Aunt and Uncle!

Sunday morning we lazed around and then all of us headed to church! Sam must be really learning what happens at church! During the “talking” parts of the service he sits and plays. As soon as we all get up to sing, he joins us with his own version of “singing”! He seems really proud of himself to be belting out the tunes! ha ha!
Afterwards, Ryan headed to go golfing while Sam and I headed to my parents for lunch. My parents had been out east at their cottage for almost 3 weeks! We really missed them and got to spent the afternoon visiting! Sam and Dad even took an afternoon nap together while Mom and I chatted!
It was a great weekend filled with time with family from both sides! It’s such a blessing to have so much family close by to involved in Sam’s life.
How was your weekend?
xo
Oh my god, that last picture of him! I just want to eat him!
ReplyDeletewhat would church be if a kid didnt sing haha - i think all kids do it! I remember Caden being little and standing with the hymn book and "singing" away...Tanner does it too...that is what makes our church!
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, that cake photo is ADORABLE!! Looks like you had a wonderful summer weekend!
