Reason #321 Why I love my small town

There are so many reasons why I love my small town and where I live. One of those being specific to summer time; hanging my laundry on the line! Nothing smells better then laundry that has come off the line. It's the true smell of clean and it even feels "fresher".

My favorite thing to hang on the line, bedding! Is it just me or one of the best feelings is laying in a clean, freshly made bed? When it comes from the clothes line, even better!! The sheets are never as tight as when you make the bed for the first time after it comes out of the wash! Ryan ALWAYS makes fun of me when I mention how I can't wait to crawl into bed after it is freshly made. But I just love it!

However, you know what sucks, making a king size bed by yourself. So, to make the job easier on myself I made up a game that entices Ryan to help me. Once all the sheets are on we each take a pillow case and get it ready around the pillow as if you are about to shake it on. Then, on your mark, get set, go......who ever can shake the pillow case on first and lay it on the bed has bragging rights. If I win, Ryan can't wait to make the bed again to try to win the title back! ha ha Did I mention I win alot? :-)

Do you hang your laundry on the line?

Have you made up any games to make housework a little easier?

Hope everyone is having a great week!

  1. I have to say that I HATE CLOTHES ON THE CLOTHESLINE...hehe
i hate the feeling of stiffness and the thought of earwigs and bugs if I didn't shake them enough and honestly, I end up just sneezing from all the pollen and outdoorsy stuff that comes in with the clothes...I prefer them warm and fresh out of the dryer smelling of lavender and vanilla! LOL

  2. I agree 100% I love clothes off the line. When I was younger my grandma always did that (mom had one but never used it) so I didn't understand why. I thought it was weird. Then I started hanging my work clothes on drying racks all over the house. The house we just bought has a clothes line and I used it the first weekend we worked on the house and when I brought the clothes in, I smelled my grandma! It was heaven sent! :). Nope I might get help I might not, sometimes he'll make the bed before I get in there. No games but that's a good idea!

  3. I've never hung my clothes or sheets to dry on a line but I sure do love the feeling of a fresh made bed with linens right from the dryer. Especially during the winter when it is cold & the sheets are still warm!

  4. Stacy- Ha ha Figures eh? I dont have to worry too much about pollen since I dont react to it and my "knock on wood" I havent had an issue with bugs. I discovered I hate towels on the line because it makes them so stiff!

In the winter I love taking my stuff out of the dryer and hugging the warmth! It feels so cozy!! It feels like winter! Just thinking about it is making me look foward to fall!

  6. I was just thinking the other day how my mom used to hang clothes outside in the summer! Unfortunately...it's something I have just never done :( No clue why....the dryer just seems faster and easier.

And I so love a freshly made bed!!!! And call em weird, but I usually use a little bleach when washing my sheets....I love the smell!

  7. I love the sheets on the line and the smell when you jump in bed. I put the towels on the line but don't like the stiffness so I take them off the line and throw them in the dryer for a bit - softens them up.
