Thank You 2014!

Dear 2014,

I can’t thank you enough for all that has happened this year. Truthfully, going into the year it was a frightening, life alternating journey we were about to embark on.

At the start of the year there was fear. Mostly it was fear of the unknown but there was also this fear of change. Life as I knew it was about to change. Never again would life be like it was before. It was something that I realized but it had yet to set it. Sure, starting a New Year means change every year but this year was big. We were going to become parents.

2014, you taught me patience and preparation. The beginning of your year was all about getting ready for baby both physically and mentally. It meant great patience as I had to tell myself multiple times, I can’t choose the date of little ones arrival.

About a quarter of the way through the year, I learnt what real pain felt like. Sure, labour hurts, especially all natural. But I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about the feeling of your heart literally bursting with over abundance of love. Knowing exactly that painful feeling of fear. The fear of this little person suddenly being taken away from you. That the love you feel may end because of some phenomenon.

Half way through your year, I learnt about trust. Trust in other peoples abilities but also a huge shift in trust of myself. Trust that I know what I am doing. Trust that God has a plan for our lives, good or bad. Trust in the crazy journey we take day, after day.

The rest of your year 2014, was about living. Cherishing time together, never- ending learning and living this life. For the first time in our lives, we enjoy life as it comes. We enjoy the little things and moments more this year then ever before. We like to slow down and just enjoy the time together.

You brought so many changes to our lives this year, 2014. Looking back, those are all good changes. We became parents, watched our love through a little person and stepped back to enjoy life. Things weren’t always easy but we have matured to realize that bad days happen. That usually a good nights sleep will bring better mornings. Thank you for being such an amazing year!

Love,

Me

Hey, 2015….Get ready! We’re going to rock your year! We are going to continue to better our relationships and live life to the fullest. We are going to unplug more often, soak up the sun when possible and work on physical and spiritual health!
