Is it really Thursday today? I had one of those moments this morning when you wake up and go, "oh....friggin Wednesday's...wait....it's Thursday!!!"
I love realizing that it is later in the week!! A perfect way to start the morning!
Today is day 10 of Aly and Molly's 12 days of Christmas Challenge.
Day 10: Favorite Christmas songs/Carols
This one is kind of easy for me. When I think of Christmas songs the first one that comes to mind is Christmas In The Valley, By Wayne Rostad.
For those of you who don't know, I live in Quebec, an english speaking part of Quebec(rare!). We live so close to the Ontario border (a ferry ride away) that we are considered part of "The Ottawa Valley." We are very proud people in our area. Proud of our heritage, proud of our town, and proud to be Canadians. It is amazing the amount of people that actually have heard about the Ottawa Valley. It kind makes you feel a little famous when they say they have heard of your little area.
(Ya, I LOVE my small town!)
My parents introduced this song to my brother and I when we were little. It was on a cassette tape (that we still use) and we had to listen to this tape EVERY year when we put up the Christmas tree.
We only have one cassette between 3 houses but every year we share it depending on who is putting up their tree. After Christmas Mom puts it in the safe for next year. Ya, it has to go in the safe, that is how much we love our Wayne Rostad tape! ha ha!
So, without further adieu, here is a video I found of Christmas In The Valley. Enjoy!
xo
Look at us all on the ball today! And Wayne Rostad is the funniest guy... lol... Would you believe my sister met him at the airport on her way home from Nova Scotia Tim Hortons Camp! So funny. And that video is so old school. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHa ha Only two more days, we can do it Sharon! I've actually never met Wayne before. If I ever do I'm gonna have to tell him I'm his biggest Christmas music fan! ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI pretty much love all the songs on the Christmas in the Valley tapes...I especially love - Candle in the Window and the Little Toy Trains one
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I Like it, never heard of it before :) Happy December :)
ReplyDeleteWayne Rostad was at Jam Fest a few years ago, and after people in the crowd bugged and bugged him, he finally sang Christmas In the Valley.
ReplyDeleteIn July. :)
It's a favourite at our house too!
Thanks for sharing! I really like it!
ReplyDeleteThat's a Nice song! At least you didn't wake up thinking it was Friday and get disappointed. I've done that before, even shown up to work in jeans....
ReplyDelete2 more days of what Lindsay? If you're talking about the 12 days of Christmas, there are 14 topics hun.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsay, with the snow falling and Wayne singing it feels Christmasy here!
