*** Warning this might be a Christmas overload post, be prepared ***
So, with such a busy weekend my intentions of participating in Aly and Molly's 12 days of Christmas did not happen! However, I am rested, refreshed and ready to continue!
Day 5: Favorite Christmas move/T.V specials
I have to admit, I don't watch that many Christmas specials on T.V. When it comes to movies I only really watch them if they are playing on T.V or when I am wrapping Christmas presents.
There are a few that are a must every year though
1. White Christmas
2. The Grinch
3. The Family Stone
Day 6: Gift Ideas...FOR ME!
I really hate asking for things. I know it makes it easier for people but I find it hard to think of things that I want. I gave Ryan a break this year and made him a list.
1. New work out clothes
2. Yoga mat
3. New cookie sheets
4. Anything fabric or craft related
5. New board game
Isn't it funny how you use to HATE getting socks for Christmas and now it's actually something that you really want?
Day 7: Christmas Craft/DIY
I am a becoming someone who loves to make things for around the house. I would love to show you the neat Christmas craft from this year but I don't want to ruin the surprise!
This year I have been getting together with some friends to do a monthly craft together. This month (Christmas) Sharon (Hi Sharon!) and Josee (Hi Josee!) were hosting a make your own Christmas centrepiece/wreath.
The participants instructions were to bring pruning shears, gloves and a floral foam.
Sharon had collected all of the foliage for the craft from around her in-laws farm. It all smelt soooo good!
The instructions were pretty simple, just start sticking in branches.
After the foam was full of foliage we add some decorations, pine cones, ribbon, etc.
Sharon (Hi Sharon!) also helped me make a wreath and I am in love with it !!
I can't wait to make another one next year! It is so simple and cost effective if you live around a spot where you can find the foliage.
Day 8: Least favorite thing about Christmas
This may see weird but I really hate finding Christmas cards that DON'T say "Holidays". I am a proud Christian and celebrate the birth of baby Jesus. Therefore, to express that I like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
I have no issues with other people who do not have the same beliefs as I do and prefer "Holiday" cards but I want to exercise my right to say Christmas, and it is very difficult now to find cards that say "Merry Christmas"
Other then that, I can't of anything I don't like about Christmas.
Day 9: Favorite Christmas Recipe
I love everything about Christmas but especially the turkey dinner. There is something about getting together with family for a huge feast, it's the best.
My favorite part of Christmas dinner is the stuffing.
My mom uses "Dalton's Dressing" recipe.
I wish I knew the recipe, I'll have to get her to pass it onto me this year so I can share it with all of you sometime!
