Happy Friday! Can you keep a secret?

Happy Friday everyone!! I am so happy the week is over! Last night, I stayed up WAY past my bedtime to finish watching a movie, stupid Christmas specials get me every time!

My brother and sister in law has been sick pretty much all week with the flu. I have a weekend full of plans and I was telling them if I got sick they were in big trouble, ha ha!

So, I feel pretty comfortable with you now fellow bloggers, readers, etc. So comfortable in fact, that I am willing to share with you my world famous homemade pizza dough recipe!!

You know, you should feel very fortunate, I have shared this recipe with just about 3 people. And now, I'm putting it on the world wide web.

ha ha Ok, so it really isn't that famous. But in my mind it is because Ryan and I love this recipe and literally use it every single week!

WAY back, when Ryan and I started dating he told me his favorite food was pizza. We would order pizza in but a large was usually around $20. A lot of money to spend every week. I started experimenting with different pizza recipes. I combined a couple and came out with this recipe which literally only costs us $7 to make including sauce, meat and cheese. Did I mention it is SUPER simple to make? SCORE!

So without further adieu......

Lindsay's Pizza Dough:

Ingredients:
1 to 1 1/2 cups of water
(depends on how thick you like you pizza dough)
1 tsp sugar
1 small package of yeast or 1 tsp of (dry active) yeast
Garlic powder
Flour (about 2-3 cups)
Pizza toppings of your choice

Directions:

1. Measure your water and put it in a bowl. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.

2. Add yeast. Let it sit until all the yeast is saturated (wet looking). Once saturated, give it a quick stir.

3. Slowly add flour, stirring constantly. Stir in a little dash of garlic powder when the dough is still very wet.

4. Keep adding flour until the dough gets thick. It should no longer be sticky and be easy to knead.

5. Knead your dough a few times.

6. Place it on your greased pizza pan to rise for 30 minutes OR place it in greased bowl over night.

* I always make my pizza dough the night before. That way when I got home I just put it on the pan, add the toppings and bake!

7. Add sauce

8. Add other toppings (we like pepperoni and bacon)

9. Top with cheese.

10. Bake at 350 for about 25 minutes.

OR

Place on medium heat on the BBQ for 15 minutes

OR

Freeze it raw (not cooked) and keep some on hand in your freezer for a quick pizza meal.

It's delivery, NO, it's Lindsay's pizza dough.

11. ENJOY!

I can promise you that everyone in your family will love this meal well, unless you hate pizza, in that case ignore this post altogether.

I love making 5 pizza's ahead and sticking them in my freezer. You can even stick them in the oven to bake completely frozen!

It's simple, cheap to make, and unbelievably delicious. There is just something about homemade pizza that is the best! Yum!

I hope everyone has a really great weekend!

xo

  2. I actually don't roll my dough. I just stick it on the pan and then with floured fingers press it down all around the pan. xo

  7. Well Lindz I just may be inspired to make some pizza dough. I cannot remember the last time I used yeast. Do I have to put it in lukewarm water? I am never quite sure about that part. Your dough looks great so what do you do?

  9. Hi Shelley!

Yes it should be warm water. Woops left that part out. Warm water is perfect but not too hot or you'll scold your yeast.
